A Few Recipes and a Break
After a short break, I made two recipes today. I made the Pumpkin Custard (267) for my Bradley class and I made the Spaghetti Sauce (119) for our dinner. I had never eaten custard before. This was almost exactly like pumpkin pie without the crust. I actually froze the leftovers to see if it would get to be like ice cream. We’ll see. The Spaghetti sauce was pretty good. I actually prefer the sauce for the pizza on page 142. The taste is a little more interesting, but it can also be used as pasta sauce. Even though the 119 recipe is called pizza or spaghetti sauce it’s really only for spaghetti, I think. The 142 recipe (if you use puree, like I do) makes enough for 2 pizzas and one pasta dinner or 4 pizzas.
Obviously, Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so I won’t be doing MwL recipes then. However, I’ve noticed a major difference in my back pain when I cook and when I don’t. So, until after baby, I’m going to take a little break. There will be a lot of baked potatoes, pasta, tacos, and baked chicken for the next month. That’s ok, right? Fine with me.
