January 2007

Just wanted to say a quick congratulations to my cousin Ben and his wife, Amber. Amber just gave birth to their first child, a son. His name is Tristan Caleb Rocke.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you can now hear the pterodactyl scream for yourself! This video was shot while we were still in the hospital, so it’s actually much quieter than she can manage now.

Reese with eyes open
Reese stays awake more every day. Here’s one of her little peepers.

Reese is as much of a sucker for cuddles as her mom. As long as someone is holding her, she puts up with a lot. If we change her clothes on a changing table she screams, but if we do it in someone’s arms, she doesn’t make a peep. The not great thing about this is that she refuses to sleep in her bassinet at night. Something I don’t mind now, because I love cuddling her as much as she loves it, but later on we’ll have to make more of an effort to get her into her own bed. Here’s a picture of her in the one and only outfit I bought for her (I splurged and bought this at Baby Gap).img_0393.JPG

Here’s a shot of Reese (left) hanging out with Aiden Karrer, who was born about a day after Reese. Aiden is the son of Josh & Beth Karrer, friends of ours from our time back in DC, now relocated to the Richmond area as well. It’s been really fun for Meg and Beth to go through their pregnancies together, and now they get to explore the first months of motherhood together as well!
